A Case of Spitz Nevus

Abstract
Spitz nevus is a benign melanocytic lesion that shares many histologic features with malignant melanoma. The lesion is usually solitary and is encountered most commonly on the face, neck and extremities. In most instances, it consists of a
dome-shaped,
hairless, small nodule and occurs most commonly. In the first two decades of life.
We report a case of Spitz nevus in a 4-year-old girl. She had a red-brownish, dome-shaped, 1 cm sized nodule on the left temple area. The lesion had been present for about 8 months and was asymptomatic, Histologic examination revealed a large
melanocytic lesion composed of spindle and epithelioid cells. They showed maturation with increasing depth.
